| Little About Chinese Imperial Dogs Shih Tzu Page | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Shih Tzu is one of the Chinese Imperial elegant temple dogs from China, for numerous centuries, this little Chinese Imperial dog were house pets and personal property of several royal families in Imperial China, hidden in the palace and beloved at court were the exquisitely dainty and well-proportioned little one, bred with the strictest selectivity and carefully screened to conform to the imperial ideal, only beautiful face smaller size type quality ShihTzu were highly prized in the imperial court, where these Chinese Imperial dogs lived lives of luxury. Shih Tzu also often known as the "Xi Shi quan", based on the name of Xi Shi, regarded as the most beautiful woman of ancient China. Shih Tzu also have the nickname "Chrysanthemum Face", hair on their faces grows out in circular direction, making the faces look like flower. This little Chinese Imperial best temple non shed dog has won many hearts and quickly becoming one of the most popular toy breeds in American. Although small in stature, ShihTzu are strong and sturdy for their size, and should not give an impression of fragility. They are free spirits, loving their owners, but not slavishly obedient, ShihTzu preferring to think things out for themselves. Shih Tzu came in many different colors, sizes, body shape and pedigrees, the appropriate color, size is a matter of your personal preference adoption. There is impossible no way to order a specific size, color, sex all in one. Whatever color, size, sex or however marked, each one of them is special. Shih Tzus coat colors change after birth, they gets lighter and lighter each month till about one year old (except black color). ShihTzu personality which is unique blend of charm, love, fun, self-importance, proves an irresistible combination. They are active, alert, sweet, playful and somewhat stubborn, their qualities that make them good therapy dogs and good watchdogs, they might bark to let you know someone is at the door or they hear a strange noise outside, but will love them once they know they are your friends. Shih Tzu is one of the toy breeds that I do recommend for families with kids(With lots of supervision between the young children and the puppy). Besides their playfulness and love of affection, ShihTzu adapt well to any family situation and get along nicely with anyone or other animals. ShihTzu will enjoy a cuddle in your lap, they have a lap dog personality, they want nothing more than to be adored by its owner. It is undesirable for Shih Tzu to nasty or overly aggressive. Unlike other toy breeds, Shih Tzu does not exhibit noisy yapping. Shih Tzu are un-dog like, and more like a spoiled child. Taking a Shih Tzu puppy into your home is very much like adopting a child. They are intelligence. Every breed of dogs comes with it's own health hazards, ShihTzu is a basically healthy breed. ShihTzu requires a minimum amount of exercise, they will be happy as long as it is free indoor, a little amount of running around that they do is all that they need, they are good apartment dogs. Many people who are allergic to dog and cat are not allergic to Shih Tzu. they do not shed seasonally, instead, they shed in small amounts all of the times, just as your hair. Shih-Tzu thrive on human company and NEVER should be kept as kennel dog, they should always live indoor with their owners warm and comfortable, they thrives on human companionship and must be treated as one of the family. Chipping the Shih Tzu gives them a chance to romp freely and they still as cute, beautiful & playful as ever. Owning Shih Tzu dogs can be the most delightful experience any family can embark upon. One of the greatest pleasures of owning a Shih Tzu puppy is to watch it grow from this small to a proud and intelligent family member. This however, takes a lot of patience, time and energy.
